This is from a few years back, girl called Leslie Feist. Might recognise her track Mushaboom from a particular men's fragrance commercial. Very nice album. Personal favourite is Leisure Suite.

Inverse Cinematics Strike Again...
Iv been a huge cinematics fan after they dropped this juicy bit of broken goodness back in '03. Its basically two german guys doing their stuff (stick with it, it gets better as it goes on!)
But, onto why im making this post. This is 'Dont Give Up' from their album 'Passin Through'

We've had a Beatdoctor, now we got a Beatchild.
Slakah the Beatchild to be exact. Nice sounding stuff from this Canadian dude who produces most if not all of his own stuff. If you get a chance check him out on Myspace and BBE Music. The album Soul Movement Vol. 1 is out now I believe and features Enjoy ya Self which is a real nice track.

Over the water from Japan...
...Is Korea. These guys are korean :)
I stumbled across this track once while hunting down a track for the original ogre... forgot all about it until today, when going through my 'unsorted downloads' folder of mp3 collection.
"Clazziquai" is Hangul for "ClassicJazzGroove". Its a really nice track. Im a real rhodes fiend anyway, this isnt groundbreakingly different from anything, but i really enjoy it.
Suppose it helps that im a huge reel people and incognito fan.

The voyage into the sun...
Sleep Walker released this a couple years back. Nice little album, but only 8 tracks. 8 nice tracks though. Steve's already mentioned Hajime Yoshizawa, well he plays the piano for this quartet. Album features Bembe Segue and Yukimi Nagano. Some nice jazz.

Right so I was going to wait a bit to get onto Yukimi Nagano, but I just heard a track she featured on for Ge-ology. That tipped me over the edge and I can't wait, gotta share it. So below is a playlist of tracks that I love so far that feature Yukimi. Seriously nice.

Jafrosax
Just recently been introduced to Yukimi Nagano (thanks for the heads up Dale)! Gonna get some of her stuff with Little Dragon up here soon enough. Anyways, after doing a little digging, I found that she'd collaborated with this group Jafrosax, a Japan based nujazz/broken beat outfit who are sometimes produced by Vikter Duplaix. Had to check them out obviously, and first track I stumbled upon was this. Instant gold I tells ya! It's called Rollin'. Enjoy

Music In The Sky...
If you didnt know, im a bit of a future jazz / broken beat / bruk fan, and most of its derivatives, related music, related artists, and im sure youv got the point.
I first became aware of Hajime at the turn of the decade, when i heard a great few tunes on Gilles Petersons show. This is from 2005 album 'music from the edge of the universe', which i dont have, but i should have - by the sounds of it.
I only just heard it. Its three years old. I need to get it together.
Anyway, Face is the vocalist here, who you may or may not know from her work with 4hero across the years (two pages right up to play with the changes). Will update this post when i get the album, im ordering it today if i can find it.
Hajime is, essentially, a jazz musician. Just listen to the changes!

Fudgemunk...?
So I'm checking out Damu the Fudgemunk, and I come across this video of him making beats in the park... I'll let the video do the talking, but check his album Overtime ASAP!

Another album that just needs to be got...
I don't know what they're eating out in the Lowlands these days, but it's turning regular guys into serious producers! Now, straight out of Hilversum, Netherlands [although now based in Utrecht] we get Arts the Beat Doctor. This is his 2007 album, Transitions. If you see it while you're digging the crates of your local record store, BUY IT!! Seriously slick beats and some decent flows on this LP.
Progressions - his next release is being plugged on the website now.

My Summer Tune
Ok, ok, i know summer is pretty much done - but it doesnt stop that sometimes you get that summer feeling. This track has had so much reloading from me i cant even describe to you.
Great music, from one of the hardest working musicians out there... and yes - the video is truly random.
If you can get hold of this, you wont regret it because while this is a short edit for video - the full edit flows so much better.

Obese Frederick's Fall...
Or... as you would more accurately say: Fat Freddy's Drop.
I cant really describe the emotions that this music brings out in me. Its just supremely chilled, yet with so much soul that it sends tingles up my spine. Im posting Ray Ray here, its my favourite off their album 'Based On a True Story'. Theres nothing else i can say. Press play, sit back, and let yourself drift. That, is pretty much all i have to say about that.
Oh, i almost forgot. Hi there, im writer #2.
Comfort Fit - Never Look Back
Comfort Fit's new EP, Never Look Back. After listening to Forget and Remember, I had to check this out too and it doesn't disappoint. Nice vibe, and I'm definitely feeling State of Mind which features Washington rapper Mercury Waters.
If you don't got it, get it!
Harada Ikuko [原田郁子]
So, I've been tripping over this cute little Japanese singer/musician for a little while now [no surprise there!!]. She's part of Japanese pop trio, Clammbon who are also pretty cool. Check her out playing her track Tanoshisou Kanashisou [たのしそう かなしそう] acoustic below.
The Beginning
So here it is, my music blog. Have no idea why it's taken me this long to get it started!
I'm probably not going to post loads of music the masses are hardcore into. I am going to try and share some gems from around the world that deserve a listen. If you like them, drop a comment, look up the artist, enjoy their music!
Hopefully this will be a nice little window into the the type of stuff you wouldn't normally hear around.
Enjoy.
